Day 1

Nairobi – David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Experience – Nairobi

Your ½-day safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel, residence, or airport in Nairobi by your professional driver-guide in a comfortable minivan.

You will drive toward the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage located within Nairobi National Park, arriving in time for the public elephant viewing session.

The journey itself is short and convenient, making this one of the easiest wildlife experiences to include in a Kenya itinerary.

At the sanctuary, you’ll spend time watching rescued elephant calves being bottle-fed by their caretakers, splashing through mud pools, and interacting playfully with one another.

The keepers share emotional rescue stories and explain how orphaned elephants are rehabilitated before being gradually reintroduced into protected wilderness areas.

You’ll gain fascinating insights into elephant conservation, anti-poaching efforts, and Kenya’s wildlife protection programs before departing back to Nairobi for hotel drop-off or onward plans.
