Day 1

Kampala – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

Your Uganda safari begins with early pickup from Kampala before driving north through Uganda’s countryside toward Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the country’s only destination for white rhino tracking.

Following a briefing by an armed wildlife ranger, enjoy an unforgettable guided rhino tracking experience on foot lasting approximately 1–2 hours.

Walking through bushland while tracking rhinos offers a rare conservation-based wildlife encounter unlike traditional safari experiences.

After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in time to visit the dramatic Top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile crashes violently through a narrow seven-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters below into roaring rapids.

Later, continue to Heritage Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner

Transport Distance & Time: Approx. 330 km | 6–8 hours including stopovers and rhino tracking

Rise early for one of East Africa’s most rewarding wildlife experiences: a boat safari on the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls.

During the cruise, encounter pods of hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, antelope species, and spectacular birdlife as the riverbanks awaken with wildlife activity.

As the falls draw closer, the thunderous roar of crashing water becomes impossible to ignore.

Return to the lodge for a late breakfast before beginning the scenic transfer southwest toward Kibale National Park, Uganda’s celebrated primate forest.

Arrive at Kibale Forest Camp in time for dinner and overnight surrounded by rainforest sounds.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, head to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre inside Kibale National Park for a ranger briefing before entering the rainforest to track chimpanzees.

Known as the “Primate Capital of the World,” Kibale hosts over 1,500 chimpanzees and multiple primate species.

Trekking follows nesting sites from the previous night, with ranger-guides interpreting chimpanzee behavior and movements throughout the forest.

Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing chimpanzees at close range — watching social interactions, feeding behavior, vocalizations, and movements through the forest canopy.

After lunch, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for a late afternoon game drive across the wildlife-rich Kasenyi plains famous for lions, Uganda kob, elephants, buffalo, and predator activity.

Dinner and overnight at your safari lodge.

Search for lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, antelope, and extensive birdlife.

Following lunch, enjoy one of Uganda’s finest wildlife experiences: the Kazinga Channel boat cruise, a spectacular two-hour safari through waters connecting Lake George and Lake Edward.

Expect extraordinary close-up encounters with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, water birds, and countless species gathering along the shoreline.

After the cruise, travel toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving at Gorilla Bluff Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Your trek into the dense rainforest begins with ranger-guides leading through steep slopes, jungle paths, and thick vegetation in search of habituated mountain gorilla families.

Trek duration varies depending on gorilla movement and location.

When you finally encounter the gorillas, time slows. Spend one full hour observing these magnificent primates at close range as silverbacks protect families, juveniles play, and mothers nurture infants in silence and calm.

Return to headquarters to receive your gorilla trekking certificate before returning to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, and a final safari dinner.
